In late 2009 our members voted for two focussed periods of fashion history that would influence some of the classes we would publish in 2010. They chose the turbulent Revolutionary period, 1770-89, and the Victorian Natural Form, 1876-82.
We invited the members to make something from one or both of these eras, marrying what they'd learnt with their own creativity to create an entry for the final, climactic Double Period Project competition! That competition deadline passed on February 7th 2011, and in the links above you can enjoy all the entries we received.
Deciding on the winners
Winners are decided by a vote of all the members. They receive a year's free subscription to Foundations Revealed and our sister site, Your Wardrobe Unlock'd, plus a special winner's trophy icon to use on their website, blog or online profile. The Best In Show in the Corset and Stays categories each receive a $200 gift voucher to the online store of their choice.
Comment, praise, encourage!
But this is not just a competition - every one of these costume and corset artists is a winner, and here's your opportunity to salute them. We encourage you strongly to comment on each page, below their work, whether you are a member of our communities or not.
